A Dog Photographer with Whimsical Ideas
I have a quirky, and humorous way of looking at animals. My goal is capturing the personality of the animal. And if I can add some whimsy and humor, it is all the more fun. During the 10 years I spent creating the annual calendar for Weimaraner Rescue of Texas I sometimes imagined dogs doing human like things. My wacky ideas and sense of humor also translates to the Christmas and Holiday cards I create every year for select clients.
But I've gotten ahead of myself. Way back in the 1990s I raced Flyball with my dog Chloe. I started photographing the other dogs racing. It was the film days and it was much more difficult to photograph fast moving dogs in very bad light. But it was my start; the beginning of my photography business. Fast forward to today where I specialize in studio photography and create authentic portraits of dogs and cats, capturing the essence of the pet.
I have dog training experience starting years ago when I helped train dogs for the local SPCA. Of course I trained my own dogs for Flyball and obedience. I currently have one dog, a rescue Galgo, and three cats. I am current training the dog and yes, I am training the cats too.
I regularly give back by raising money for rescue groups. My Bow WOW sessions raise money for different pet charities.
I am a Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Master Photographer, Photographic Craftsman, Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) and Educational Associate with the American Society of Photographers (ASP). I am a member of PPA, Dallas PPA, ASMP, and ASP. I have received numerous awards for my photography. I teach other photographers how to be pet photographers, and have written three books on dog photography.
On a personal note, I love history, airplanes, antique cars, books on the history of technology, antique telephones and antique radios. Basically I'm a nerd. (My previous career as a broadcast engineer might have something to do with that!) Oh, I love estate sales and auctions. Where else do you think I find those antiques to collect and great prop furniture for the studio!

Margaret captures the essence of the animals she photographs. When I look at the photos of Kelly, it is almost as if she is going to jump off the page and into my arms.

I trusted Margaret's creative ability to come up with the ideas and poses, and I got truly lovely portraits to cherish. I look forward to more sessions in the future with Margaret, her dog handler, and my precious Pearl!

I highly recommend Margaret Bryant to anyone who wants portraits that capture the love and unique relationship they have with their dog(s) that they will treasure forever.

Wow, the portraits I did with Margaret are amazing! I had so many people ask me "why are you going all the way to Dallas for dog photography?" Because Margaret does what almost no one else does, black background and unusual poses. I knew that Margaret was my only choice. Once people saw my portraits, they all understood why I went all the way to Dallas! Thank you Margaret for your patience and talent.

I was referred to Margaret from another photographer. Little did I know that was about to embark on a glorious journey that would reveal the magical difference between photography and art.
There was a connection with Margaret almost instantly. It was as if she already understood the unique and special relationship I have with my dogs. Reflecting back over the wonderful experience, I think it can be best summarized by a comment from one of my friends: "It's as if she photographs love." Thank you Margaret for such a wonderful gift.

Our experience with Margaret was fantastic! She is caring, talented, and knows exactly how to get the "right" shot. She is very patient and a lot of fun to work with. I knew our portraits would come out well, but I was really blown away when I saw them! We will always cherish our photos of our "kids" and the great experience with Margaret.
